New drop in the store #2

Just upped a pair of Unisex Vintage Sunglasses in the store.

The original frame case was discovered in a beyone repairable condition so I swapped it out with a better one from my own collection. Check them out as well the freshly upped Vintage Snapbacks.

All three are deadstock with the tags still attached so grab them while you can. Here are the 2 other hats also featured.

Visit the store through the link above or slide in through here, and if you haven't heard the "Pirate Radio" mixtape then check it out. Aural stimulation...

Role Playing

1/2 of the curaturial duo: Noelle Smith

One of the best shows I've seen in a loong time: Last Friday night, April 16th, student show, curated by Noelle Smith and Maggie Exner, both Art Majors at Rhodes College in their final year, entitled "Role Play." The group show at 314 S. Main featured works from Brannan Denney, Adam Farmer, and Mary Carmack. I loved the French salon-style organizing of the paintings, drawings, and installations, all with such a tactile quality. Having taken Hamlett Dobbin's collaborative drawing class with these two ladies, I'm assuming that's where they got their inspiration for the wonderful collaborative painting setup at the center of the gallery? Job well done, ladies!

Pirate Radio Mix (Free Download)

Here is the aforementioned freebie. Pirate Radio is a mix of hip-hop, soul, electro, lo-fi grooves, and the like straight from our personal playlist. I would post up the tracklisting but what would be the fun in that. Listen and explore the track in its entirety. New stock to come as well as other ventures. Download below and play LOUD.

B East Pt.2- Shoes

Carlos Schwab for Scorah Pattulo and Stella McCartney

Dries van Noten and Carlos Schwab for Scorah Pattullo

Pour La Victoire

Miss Sixty, Pour la Victoire, Pour la Victoire, Pierre Hardy

Here are the last couple of photos that were taken of our apartment by Carlos Moore for B East Magazine, more specifically of my shoes. :) Please excuse the dust in the last photo, some of course, are given more love than others.

I have a problem of getting tired of my shoes, buying a new pair, wearing them everyday for a week and then the cycle repeats. All the shoes that I have acquired have been found through back alleys, high roads, you get the gist... Like I've stated before, quality united with design are the two biggest factors when choosing which shoes I purchase (other than price of course). That being said, great quality and great design don't usually come with great prices. It takes a lot of time and patience to find a beautiful pair of shoes at a price one can afford. Yoox and Ebay are great places to spend endless hours searching through pages and pages of products until you finally come across one thing that really makes researching worth it- last year, I found a pair of Martin Margiela half mesh half leather pumps for $100! Right now, I have my eye on a pair of platform black patent Pradas...

Thanks again Carlos for letting us use these photos.

Stay tuned for images from the photoshoot we worked on last week!

Carlos Moore shoot for B East Magazine

Carlos Moore has been a friend of mine for a good while now and we've spoken time and time before about collaborating on a project. On a recent trip back from Europe, Carlos contacted the Editor of Russian magazine B East about a possible shoot and sure enough he was given the go. The concept was to play off of the title and shoot different individuals that either reside or grew up in East Memphis. From that point, Carlos gathered up several Memphians that come from various backgrounds. I was chosen to be featured in one set of shots which were taken in our midtown apartment. You can check out a few of the snaps from the shoot that won't be featured in the magazine here and feel free to browse Carlos Moore's site for more of his work.
